The online store, LHDN, and the internal system on one thread
DayDreamer connected HOOGA's e-commerce site, Malaysia's LHDN e-invoicing system, and HOOGA's own internal system into a single flow, so an online order is submitted for e-invoice validation and lands as an internal record without a manual step between them. The work was driven by Malaysia's MyInvois mandate, so the integration was built to sit behind the checkout HOOGA already had and the internal system its team already used — compliance being the requirement rather than a reason to replace working systems. Customers shop exactly as before, and the invoicing that the mandate demands happens as part of the order rather than as a job someone has to do afterwards.
Overview
Malaysia's e-invoicing mandate put a tax authority in the middle of every sale HOOGA makes. DayDreamer built the connection that satisfies it — joining HOOGA's e-commerce site, LHDN's e-invoicing system, and HOOGA's own internal system so an order becomes a compliant e-invoice and an internal record on the same pass, with nobody re-keying it in between.
Background
HOOGA is a Scandinavian-inspired home décor and furnishing brand — named for the Danish idea of hygge — operated in Malaysia by EADESS SDN. BHD. It sells through its own physical stores and online at findinghooga.com.my, and by its own account has stores across Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, the UAE, and Bahrain.
Malaysia's e-invoicing mandate is not a reporting preference; from the date LHDN sets for a business's revenue band, a sale is not properly invoiced until it has been submitted to MyInvois and validated. That lands awkwardly for a retailer selling online. The sale happens in the e-commerce platform, the record of it belongs in the internal system, and neither was built to talk to a tax authority. Bridging that by hand is possible at low volume and unworkable at retail volume — and every manual re-key is a place a compliance error can enter.
What we delivered
E-commerce integration
System integration
Connected HOOGA's WooCommerce store so a completed order carries what an e-invoice needs, making the sale the trigger for compliance rather than something reconciled after the fact.
LHDN MyInvois integration
Compliance integration
Built the submission path to LHDN's e-invoicing system, so invoices go out for validation automatically in the format the mandate requires.
Internal system integration
Backend integration
Joined HOOGA's own internal system to the same flow, so the invoice the tax authority holds and the record the business runs on stay the same record.
Tech & tools
Outcomes
- →Connected the online store, LHDN's e-invoicing system, and HOOGA's internal system, so a sale reaches the tax authority and the internal record without a manual hop between them.
- →Met a government mandate without changing how HOOGA sells — the checkout customers use is the one they already knew.
- →Made e-invoicing part of the order flow rather than a filing job, so compliance does not scale with someone's hours.
- →Removed the re-keying between systems, which is where compliance errors tend to enter.
- →Built the integration around the internal system HOOGA already runs, instead of asking the business to move onto something new to become compliant.

Frequently asked questions
We sell on WooCommerce. Can you connect it to LHDN MyInvois?+
Yes — HOOGA runs on WooCommerce, and that is the store we submit from. A WooCommerce order already holds nearly everything an e-invoice needs, so the work is carrying it out to LHDN in the format the mandate expects and bringing the validated result back, without a plugin dictating how the rest of the business runs.
The LHDN e-invoice mandate applies to us. Can you connect it to the systems we already run?+
Yes — that is the shape of the work. For HOOGA we joined their e-commerce site, LHDN's e-invoicing system, and their own internal system, so a sale is submitted for validation and recorded internally on the same pass. The mandate is fixed; what it connects to is whatever you already have.
Do we have to replace our e-commerce platform or our internal system to comply?+
No. HOOGA kept both. We built the integration to sit between the systems and carry the invoice out to LHDN, rather than asking the business to migrate onto something new in order to satisfy a tax rule. Replacing a working system is a much larger project than complying with the mandate.
Our online store and our internal system do not talk to each other. Is that a problem for e-invoicing?+
It is the actual problem, and it is the one we solve. E-invoicing needs the sale and the business record to agree, so a store and an internal system that never exchanged data now have to. On HOOGA that link is what the engagement was — the LHDN submission sits on top of it.
Does e-invoicing change anything for our customers at checkout?+
It does not have to. HOOGA's customers shop the way they always did; the compliance work happens behind the order. A mandate is an obligation on the business, and there is no reason for it to show up as friction in the buying experience.
