DayDreamer built an AI-powered web experience for Alibaba Cloud Malaysia that turns user-uploaded content into personalised Hari Raya greeting videos — integrating Alibaba's WAN generation models with a fine-tuned system prompt. The idea: don't just send text, send motion.
Background
Alibaba Cloud is the cloud-computing and AI arm of Alibaba Group, operating cloud regions in Malaysia across Kuala Lumpur and Johor, and running a local office and developer community in Kuala Lumpur. Its WAN (Tongyi Wanxiang) models are Alibaba's family of generative video models that turn text and images into video.
Hari Raya is Malaysia's season of greetings, and text alone doesn't carry the moment. The opportunity was to show what Alibaba Cloud's WAN video models could do in a way anyone could try: upload a photo, get back a personalised Raya greeting video with your own face in it. DayDreamer fine-tuned the system prompt and built the web experience around the model — turning a raw generation model into a campaign consumers could actually use.
